June 14, 2021 - HFpeg postdoc wins APEC Outstanding Presentation Award
HFpeg postdoc and former graduate student Sreyam Sinha won an Outstanding Presentation Award at IEEE APEC 2021 for the paper “Comparison of Large Air-Gap Inductive and Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer Systems,” co-authored with HFpeg graduate student Sounak Maji and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi.

March 21, 2019 - HFpeg student wins APEC Outstanding Presentation Award
HFpeg graduate student Brandon Regensburger won an Outstanding Presentation Award at IEEE APEC 2019 for the paper “High-Efficiency High-Power-Transfer-Density Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer System for Electric Vehicle Charging Utilizing Semi-Toroidal Interleaved-Foil Coupled Inductors,” co-authored with collaborator Jiale Xu and HFpeg graduate students Sreyam Sinha and Ashish Kumar and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi.

March 8, 2018 - HFpeg student wins APEC Outstanding Presentation Award
HFpeg graduate student Ashish Kumar won an Outstanding Presentation Award at IEEE APEC 2018 for the paper "A High-Frequency Inverter Architecture for Providing Variable Compensation in Wireless Power Transfer Systems" co-authored with HFpeg graduate student Sreyam Sinha and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi.

July 12, 2017 - HFpeg paper wins COMPEL Best Paper Award
The paper "Multi-Objective Optimization of Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer Systems for Electric Vehicle Charging" co-authored by HFpeg graduate students Katharine Doubleday, Ashish Kumar, Brandon Regensburger, Saad Pervaiz, Sreyam Sinha, CU Boulder collaborator Prof. Zoya Popovic and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi won the best paper award at IEEE COMPEL 2017.

September 21, 2016 - HFpeg student wins ECCE Best Demo Award
Graduate student Ashish Kumar won the Best Student Demo Award at IEEE ECCE 2016 for a high power density impedance control network dc-dc converter utilizing an integrated magnetic structure.

September 20, 2016 - HFpeg paper wins IEEE Industry Applications Paper Award
The paper "High Efficiency Impedance Control Network Resonant DC-DC Converter with Optimized Startup Control" co-authored by HFpeg graduate student Jie Lu and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi won the first prize paper award for 2016 from the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conversion Systems (RES) Committee.

June 30, 2016 - HFpeg paper wins COMPEL Best Paper Award
The paper "Design of Efficient Matching Networks for Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer Systems" co-authored by HFpeg graduate students Sreyam Sinha, Ashish Kumar, Saad Pervaiz, Brandon Regensburger and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi won the best paper award at IEEE COMPEL 2016.

March 24, 2016 - HFpeg students win APEC Outstanding Presentation Awards
Three HFpeg graduate students Colin McHugh, Saad Pervaiz and Alihossein Sepahvand won Outstanding Presentation Awards at IEEE APEC 2016. Another graduate student, Samantha Gunter, co-advised by HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi also won an Outstanding Presentation Award at APEC 2016.

March 19, 2015 - HFpeg student wins APEC Outstanding Presentation Award
HFpeg graduate student Jie Lu won an Outstanding Presentation Award at IEEE APEC 2015 for the paper "Impedance Control Network Resonant dc-dc Converter for Wide-Range High-Efficiency Operation" co-authored with MIT Prof. David Perreault and HFpeg PI Prof. Khurram Afridi.

September 18, 2014 - HFpeg student wins ECCE Best Demo Award
Graduate student Saad Pervaiz won the Best Student Demo Award at IEEE ECCE 2014 for an electrolytic-free offline LED driver that uses a ceramic-capacitor-based compact stacked switched capacitor (SSC) energy buffer. Team members on this project included Yu Ni and Minjie Chen.
